Fast self-erecting tower crane SMK-5.66 is a new unique product that complies with the current regulations for construction and assembly works. The crane is  an analogue of the Potain. The crane is designed to optimize and accelerate load handling procedures in metropolitan cities and areas with low-rise buildings, such as logistic centers and shopping malls, cluster home communities, sport facilities and others, as well as in cities in cramped and space-limited areas.

The crane is designed to optimize load handling procedures with low-rise buildings, such as logistic centers and shopping malls, cluster home communities, sport facilities and others. The crane SMK-5.66 is a good solution to work in cities in in cramped and space-limited areas.     

Special Features of the SMK-5.66:


·         no need for additional registration in by the Russian Federal Service of Environmental, Technical and Nuclear Supervision (RosTekhNadzor) to begin operation on another place   

·         can be erected or dismantled in 4 hours without additional lifting equipment 

·         The use of dollies allows the crane to be towed as a trailer-train unit at the speed of 60 km/h. The crane is towed by a common truck tractor with a load capacity of 20 t. No special permission is required from the Federal Authority for Road Traffic Safety (GIBDD) 

·         the crane is operated by radio remote control

·         trolley-travelling, slewing and hoisting gears are controlled by  a frequency control system

Operating area and dimensions

The telescoping tower allows the lifting height to be changed. The tower has two operating positions with the hook height of 21 m and 27 m. Aerial jib mounting requires an extremely small space (as shown in the diagram) which enables the crane to be erected in space-limited areas. The main jib radius is 34 m, 6 m and 3 m jib sections can be inserted to increase jib length up to 40 m and 43 m. A 43 m jib set at a 20° angle provides maximum lifting height, in this case the lifting capacity at any jib radius is 1 t. The jib has the 45° obstacle-avoidance position.

Electric drive and crane operation

The crane is equipped with an electric driving unit for performing work  operations. The driving unit is powered from a 380 V 50Hz external AC network. It ensures lean operation and high efficiency since no energy is consumed during idle periods. The electric motors have a long service life and do not require maintenance. The speed is controlled by frequency converters with feedback encoders. Such system ensures stable operating speed irrespective of the load. Available speed range and acceleration range are set by a manufacture and provide maximum safety and efficiency of construction works.   

The crane is operated by cable remote control (with a cable of up to 25 m) or joystick radio remote control (optimized for use within 300 m of the crane).

Availability for service 
The KB-314 is transported stowed on dollies attached to the rear of the truck tractor to form a tandem axle. Crane counterweights are removed prior to the transportation. Stowed dimensions of the crane comply with the clearance limit and no special permission is required for crane transportation on general-purpose roads. The construction of the crane ensures that the crane is fully operational within 90 minutes from the moment of delivery to the construction site.
